This is kind-of the bird that started it all. I heard birds calling on campus, quite a lot actually. All different kinds of calls too.

I was wondering what they were- or even where they were for that matter. On the way to work one day, I asked my commuting buddy, John, if he knew what they could be. He told me to download Merlin and see for myself. I fired it up once I got to work and it turned out every last one of them were Blue Jays. All of them. I, at the time, had no idea the vastness of most bird’s vocabulary. I thought it was just Mockingbirds that could make all those different calls.
